Welcome to our Edu20.org workshop!

Hi everyone,
Check out this nice, balanced comparison of EDU 2.0 vs. Moodle. EDU 2.0 doesn't win in every category (yet), but is does extremely well, and the author in fact recommends it in most cases unless a school has plenty of cash, an IT staff, and a strong desire to customize the site w/ plugins.
The main thing I think the author misses is the intrinsically networked aspect of EDU 2.0; schools can link into districts with a click of a button, share items between schools using the Library, and we're already working on country-wide networking. Moodle sites are isolated, and although they're working on the concept of a Moodle Hub, I'm sure it won't be nearly as easy to use as the EDU 2.0 approach. After all, this site was born in the cloud, not in a location.
We're already working on an open API so that third party tools can integrate with EDU 2.0 (which is the preferable way of extending systems these days - adding source code plugins is sooooo 1990).
And the best quote from the article: "EDU 2.0 is a rising start, growing and improving every day" :-)
Cheers,
Graham
Graham,
These student that created this report are part of my Masters class on instructional design and eLearning. We have been evlauating CMS and LMS opitons for delivering instruction. Almost all of my class built their courses using EDU20. And in a informal survey of the class at the end ot the CMS comparison project - they all said the would choose EDU20 as the best platform.
I told them to remember that day - because one day they will be able to say they were in on the gound floor of EDU20 - this tool is going to be big.

Hi Kevin,
That's great to hear!
EDU 2.0 is really only getting started feature-wise.
So it's going to get a LOT better than it is today.
Cheers,
Graham
